Eco Dream's Vision & Design Goals
Eco Dream will be building communities, not just houses. We want to change the way that most individuals think of affordable housing. This is attainable housing, not a hand out but a hand up. We are building homes for the 80% of families that have been priced out of the market. Our homes will be entry level homes that blend into an existing neighborhood, new developments or a new look will be created for a new neighborhood. That is what makes it exciting. Our architectural firm has created a modern liveable plan addressing the needs for families, children, physically challenged and with room for our beloved animal companions.
Because our beautiful homes are built with energy efficient, alternative building materials and a beautiful large kitchen, mud-laundry room, 21/2 bathrooms, family room as well as 3-4 bedrooms and a courtyard space within the home to allow fresh air, space for your children to play outside but inside, for you or the small ones to take a nap,to enjoy the sun, or to keep your pets safe. The Garages will be unattached so that you could convert it to an office, woodshop or have an arts & Craft studio. We are thinking outside the typical box. We plan to have all our homes carry brand new private label energy efficient appliances, led recessed lighting and the best technology has to offer.
Our new homes will be single story 1400 to 1600 square feet, ranging from 3-4 bedrooms. Your neighbors will be low to moderate income residents. Who is that? That is most of us today. With the price of homes escalating to an all time high and the market fluctuating with job loses, and pending foreclosures, we want to make owning a home a reality. We believe everyone should have a home. You cannot own a home in today's market because our salaries and hourly wages are not keeping up with the price of homes. It is unrealistic to think you can own a home unless you already have one. These homes are not for speculators or investors. These are for you to live in as your prime residence. We will be requesting that our residents in our subdivisions be respect our non-smoking environment. Why live in an eco friendly home while polluting your lungs and the air around you and others? So start taking tobacco cessation programs or speak to your medical professional for help. Contact your City and County Health Department for many free programs to help you quit.
We want to help you be healthier, prosper and thrive in your new homes. If you work, take care of your children, live good productive lifes, than there should be no reason why you cannot have a home. Do you rent? Then you should be able to quality for our home. Please see our income limit guidelines. Remember, we are building for "low to moderate income" families.
Our home are not addressing the needs of the the extremely low 30% area median income which is served by other non profits like Habitat or Self-Help. Whenever we have a surplus of materials or land, we would be happy to donate to them. If we have families that may not qualify as very low income, we will refer them to other housing partners. If you make too much, you may still by one of our homes at market rate. Our homes are beautiful, spacious and unique. And of course, you may buy the many homes that are available offered by other developers that may be larger or offer other amenities.
Please sign up on our website. We will be accepting applications for our new homes when construction starts in the fall of 2007 in the Central Valley.
Check the income guidelines on our site, have your pay check stubs, income tax returns and your Social Security Card, Drivers License and we will contact you. Please have your $ 250.00 processing fee so we can run your credit, background check and income verification as well as fill out all the documentation needed to lease to purchase our homes. THey will available on a first come first served basis so please be ready.
Eco Dream Homes will create communities that are safe, clean and a joy to live in with your families. We will create the neighborhoods so that covenants and restrictions will be honored and respected. When you buy one of our homes, you will understand our promise to you, and you to your environment.
Eco Dream communities will have the most sophisticated surveillance equipment in order to protect your families, grandparents and your children. The rest will be up to you to educate your families on personal safety no matter where we live today as that is a harsh reality. We will do all that we can to minimize any threat to you and yours.
How we take care of you and how we take care of the structure too

Complete site analysis to determine the minimum environmental impact. |
Use computer simulations to direct design decisions. |
Complete a base-case building analysis to understand design strategies that will have the greatest impact on the building design for the particular building function. |
Evaluate adjacencies for building functions and how the building interacts with the site. |
Evaluate use of renewable energy technologies and how they can be incorporated, either now or in the future, into the building design. |

Schematic Design |
Integrate the architectural design with the building's energy design. The building's form should improve the building's performance. |
Evaluate all building materials for environmentally preferability. |
Minimize building mechanical and electrical system sizes by incorporating passive solar technologies to help meet space conditions loads and lighting loads. Use computer simulations to guide design decision to achieve this strategy. |

Design Development |

Re-evaluate all suggested design changes using computer simulations before implementing the changes to ensure that the changes will not detract from meeting the building design goals. |

Construction Documents |
Write specifications clearly to eliminate confusion. On-site interpretation during construction can lead to construction errors. |
Clearly show high-performance design strategies in construction drawing details. Comprehensive details help to avoid on-site interpretation of the drawings. |
If design changes are proposed during construction, evaluate (using computer simulations) the impact those changes could have on the building performance to determine if those changes should be implemented. |

Commission all building systems prior to occupancy. |
